My Approach

It has always been my dream to help others.  As a social worker and clinical counsellor, I believe in putting my clients first and engaging in best practice interventions to help them improve the quality of their lives.  I came to learn and practice EMDR three years ago with the goal of helping people address trauma, a human condition devastatingly pervasive, compelling, and difficult to treat.  It only took a few hours of training before I realized that I wanted to focus on this trauma work and become certified in it.  To my early EMDR training, previous education and experience, and my hands-on clinical work, I have added many advanced training opportunities -- and I continue to grow as a therapist.  My EMDR-related education is provided here.  My complete Education and Experience information can be reviewed here.

As a therapist, I am calm, patient, and gentle.  I am also effective, insightful, and collaborative.  I have a non-judgmental, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming approach, welcoming any person into my office.  I feel honoured when you place your trust in my heart and my skill and share your story with me.  I will believe in you and your capacity to heal even if you feel like you may not quite believe in yourself!  I am able to offer in-person sessions in Burnaby, BC, and online sessions as well; both are effective for EMDR.  I am conveniently located next to Lougheed Highway and the Production Way Skytrain Station, and very close to the Gaglardi freeway exit.  Coquitlam, Port Moody, and New Westminster are all nearby.

I gratefully acknowledge that I live and practice on the ancestral and unceded territory of the hÉ™nÌ“Ì“qÉ™minÌ“É™mÌ“ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples.
